The late Duffie A. Hindman, jd '24, was born August 26, 1900 near Stockton, Kan. to Miles and Etta (Haines) Hindman. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1919 and from Washburn School of Law in 1924. While at Washburn he was involved in WSGA. After graduation, he started his private practice with W. Case Skinner, also of Stockton. He was Rooks County Attorney from 1926 to 1936. He married Pauline (Fleckinger) Hindman October 6, 1927. She passed away December 5, 1976. Hindman ran for state legislature in the '30s but did not win because the people of Stockton did not want him to leave. Hindman practiced law in Rooks county Kansas for almost 60 years before he retired in 1983. He established the Hindman Scholarship available to graduates of Rooks County high schools. He passed away August 9, 1987.
