Marjorie (Fletcher) Elliott was married to the late Dorsey Elliott, ba '38, born January 11, 1917. He graduated from Sublette Rural high School in 1934. Elliott majored in political science and played on the Ichabod basketball team. He was a walk-on for the basketball team, and won a starting position as a freshman. His senior year, Washburn went to the NCAA Division II tournament in Kansas City and advanced to the Final Four. He was inducted into the Washburn University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990 in acknowledgement of the successes during his time on the team. After his graduation from Washburn, he taught high school in Caldwell, Kan. and Sublette Rural High School. He married the late Eunice Dodge in 1938 and they had two children. In about 1944, Dorsey joined with his father, E.H. Elliot and began farming. He was also one of the founders of Sublette Feeders, Inc. In 1965, Dorsey became licensed to sell securities and insurance. Until his retirement in 2001, he provided insurance and investment advice and products to countless clients throughout Southwest Kansas. Marjorie and Dorsey married in Topeka in 1962 and she had two children. Dorsey passed away on January 14, 2006.
