Carol (Lyon) Vogel, ba '67, was born February 10, 1945. She has long been a part of the Washburn University family. Vogel has served the University in a variety of capacities throughout the years. Her relationship with the University began at an early age; while she was growing up, Vogel and her family lived just across the street from Washburn's campus. She graduated from Washburn with a bachelor's degree in German in 1967 and was active in many campus organizations, including Kappa Alpha Theta, NoNoSo and Student Union Activities Board. After completion of her master's degree in German, Vogel became an employee of Washburn University as a professor of German and served as Equal Opportunity Director. She retired in June of 2013. Carol married Richard "Jim" Vogel, ba '67, bba '77. Jim graduated with a B.A. in history and received a B.B.A. ten years later. Jim worked for the Kansas Department of Administration. While at Washburn, he was a member of Delta Sigma Psi and Kappa Sigma and participated in the semester in Copenhagen, Denmark program.
