The Honorable David Debenham, jd '80, was born January 11, 1955 in Heidelberg, Germany to Harold and Eleanore Debenham. Harold was serving in the U.S. Army at the time and retired after 24 years of service. David earned a bachelor's degree in 1977 from Bethany College and a law degree from Washburn University in 1980. He was a prosecutor for over 28 years serving with the Shawnee County District Attorney's Office and the Kansas Attorney General. In 2008, Governor Kathleen Sebelius appointed David as a Shawnee County district judge, where he presently serves.

Born in Missouri, Glenda Cafer has spent the majority of her life in Topeka. Her association with Washburn University started in 1967 when her father, Glenn Cafer, came to Washburn as the men's basketball and golf coach. She has continued her involvement with Washburn through scholarships and service with the Washburn University Foundation and the Washburn Scholarship Fund. She received her bachelor of business administration from Washburn University in 1983 and her juris doctor from Louisiana State University in 1987. Glenda's career has taken her from the position of General Counsel with the Kansas Corporation Commission to private practice with Cafer Pemberton LLC, practicing primarily in the area of public utility law.

David and Glenda are married and the parents of three girls. One attends Washburn University and one attends Washburn Law School.
