The late Arthur G. Johnson, jd '49, was born in July, 1920. He grew up in Baxter Springs, Kan., Cherokee county, and graduated from Baxter Springs High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Kansas State University. After his graduation from Washburn University School of Law, he was in private practice in Wichita. He was also a part-time attorney for the City of Wichita before becoming a United States Commissioner and then Clerk of the Federal Court for the State of Kansas. He was married to his high school sweetheart Anna Belle (Conrad) Johnson. He passed away in 2002. He is survived by one son, Karl G. Johnson, a Washburn University School of Law graduate. His late son, Rod Johnson, was a graduate of Georgetown University School of Law. In addition to supporting legal education at Washburn, the Johnsons also supported Wichita State University's School of Nursing.
