Joseph P. Logan was born January 21, 1921 to J. Glenn and Corinne Ripley Logan. Joseph attended Washburn University from 1938 to 1939 and was a member of Alpha Delta fraternity. He transferred to Dartmouth College, where he graduated with A.B. in 1942.

Yvonne (Westrate) Logan was born to Effie Westrate and Dr. William Westrate in Holland, Mich. She was the eldest of four children. She married Joseph in July 1943. After they were married, the couple lived in Boston for a few months and then Joseph served in the Navy for two years, where he was assigned to the destroyer U.S.S. Hambleton. When he returned, he entered Harvard Law School and earned a LL.B. in 1948. Joseph was recruited by Thompson Coburn LLP and the couple moved to Webster Groves, Mo.

Here, Yvonne became heavily involved in the peace movement.  She joined the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, serving as President from 1981 to 1985.  She has worked with a variety of other peace organizations and now serves as the director of the World Community Center. Joseph has been partner at Thompson Coburn LLP since 1957.  The couple has three living children.
