Midwest Health provides senior living services, including assisted living, independent living, and skilled nursing care. Midwest Health was founded in 1977 and currently operates in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Oklahoma, and employs more than 2,200 people. The owners of Midwest Health are all Washburn University graduates.

Jim Klausman earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Washburn University in 1974. He is the CEO and president of Midwest Health, and one of the founding owners. Jim's wife, Joleen, is an RN and has more than 20 years of experience in long-term care. She currently works with the Kansas Health Care Association, the state's largest trade association representing assisted living and skilled nursing centers.

Jim has served on the Washburn Board of Regents since 2010 and currently serves as the chairman of the board.
