Andrew Hutton, bba '76 and jd '79, was born December 31, 1953 in Newton, Kan. While he was at Washburn, Hutton played on the men's varsity tennis team and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Phi Delta Theta fraternity. While on the tennis team, Hutton went to the NAIA National Championship in 1974.  Hutton was also a member of the Sagamore Society, the Washburn Student Senate, and was homecoming king candidate in 1975. Hutton is a founding partner in Hutton & Hutton Law Firm L.L.C. with his brother, Mark. He has been admitted to the United States Supreme Court; United States Courts of Appeal for Tenth Circuit and Federal Circuit; United States Court of Claims; United States District Courts for the District of Kansas and Kansas Supreme Court. Currently, he is active in the tobacco litigation due to the firm's membership in the Castano Plaintiffs' Litigation Committee, a nationwide consortium of law firms committed to conducting litigation against the tobacco industry. He is married to Paula Hutton.
