David Fenley, bba '76 and jd '79, was born November 6, 1954 in Troy, Kan. While attending Washburn as an undergraduate, he was on the football team and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He served both as president of the local chapter and as a student member of Sigma Phi Epsilon's national board of directors. During law school, he served on the editorial board as assistant notes editor of the Washburn Law Journal and was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. After law school, Fenley joined Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP as an associate in 1980. In 1985, he was named partner, he became firm chairman in 2000 and currently, he is a partner and firm co-chairman. He guides developers, lending institutions and governmental agencies in the design, implementation and financing of private/public partnerships for urban core development and redevelopment. He is married to Hannah L. Fenley and they have two children.
