David & Charlotte  Oldham


David Oldham was born February 15, 1938. He graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka, Kan. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, magna cum laude, from Washburn University in 1960. While at Washburn, Oldham was in Air Force ROTC and Arnold Air Society, Alpha Delta social fraternity, Wesley Foundation, Kappa Mu Epsilon, and was called to Sagamore men's honorary society. After serving in the U.S. Air Force as a meteorology officer, he began a long career with Shell Oil Company and retired as senior systems analyst in information management systems.

Charlotte Stollenwerck Oldham was born January 12, 1939. She graduated from Pasadena High School in California and went on to graduate from Pasadena City College. Academic honorary societies were California Scholarship Federation, Alpha Gamma Sigma, and Tau Delta Pi (at Washburn). She studied education and received her b ed, cum laude, in 1960. While at Washburn she was in Delta Gamma social sorority, Angel Flight and Wesley Foundation.

David and Charlotte met at Washburn. They have two children: Linda Oldham Burns, bba,1989 from Washburn, and master's degree in 1994 from University of Arizona, and Jeffrey Oldham, PhD in computer science from Stanford University in 1999. Their grandson, Tyler Burns, is an avid Washburn fan. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May 2010. They live in Houston and have made their home there for over 40 years.
