Steve & Annette  Cavanaugh

Steve Cavanaugh was born in Kansas City, Kansas. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Washburn University in 1971, and earned his J.D., with honors, from Washburn University School of Law in 1980.

Cavanaugh is Of Counsel with the Topeka law firm of Cavanaugh, Biggs & Lemon, P.A. He is a member of the Topeka Bar Association and previously served as Treasurer, Secretary and President. He has served on the Washburn Law School Alumni Association Board of Governors from 1998-2012, and was President from 2012-2012. He was Secretary of the Washburn Law School Foundation from 2006-2010 and a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation from 2012-2015, serving three years as President. He was Chairman of the Washburn Law School Foundation Development Council Committee for Shawnee County in 1994, a member of the Washburn University Search Committee for the new Law School Dean in 2006, and was a member of the Washburn University School of Law Building Campaign Task Force in 2013.

Cavanaugh joined the Washburn University Foundation Board of Directors in August 2012 as the Washburn Law representative.

Annette Cavanaugh was born in Topeka, Kansas. She recieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Correctional Administration from Kansas State University in 1977, a Bachelor of Education Degree from Washburn University in 1992, and a Master's Degree from Baker University. She was a 5th grade teacher at Pauline South Intermediate School in the Auburn-Washburn School District for 24 years, retiring in September 2016.

Steve and Annette (Schafer) have two adult children and reside in Topeka.
