Carol Marie Neider Spencer
Carol graduated from Washburn University and earned a Bachelor of Science in 1971. While at Washburn University, she was a member of Alpha Phi, served on the Student Association Board, and was a member of Angel Flight. She also participated in the Semester in Copenhagen Program. Following Washburn University, she attended Emporia State University and earned a Master of Science in 1972. Jim and Carol were married on September 1, 1972. She served 17 years as a Director of Counseling in northwest Kansas at Winona and Grinnell High Schools and Colby Community College. Jim and Carol relocated to San Diego County in 1990 and she served as a grant writer for the San Diego Community College District, followed by positions as Director of Development for Cal Poly Pomona; University of California, San Diego; University of San Diego, Irvine; and California State University, Fullerton. She is enjoying retirement from both the University of California and California State University systems! Carol enjoys her association with PEO, quilting, and designing and maintaining the Spencer's garden.

James A. Spencer
Jim graduated from Washburn University and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1969 and a Juris Doctorate in 1972. While at Washburn University, he was a member of Alpha Delta, Phi Alpha Delta, served on various University Board and committees, and participated in the Semester in Copenhagen Program. Jim and Carol were married on September 1, 1972. Following graduation, he practiced law with his father and brother at Spencer & Spencer, P.A. for 17 years. Jim and Carol relocated to San Diego County in 1990 where he taught at Western State University Law School and Thomas Jefferson Law School prior to accepting a position as corporate counsel at Jack in the Box, Inc. After retirement from Jack in the Box in 2008, he accepted training positions with Lee Hecht Harrison of La Jolla and The Partnering Group of Cincinnati. Jim enjoys reading, traveling, garden railroading and building the next project Carol dreams up!

With passion and commitment for international study, Carol and Jim have designated an estate gift endowment for students studying abroad.
