The Honorable David Debenham, jd '80, was born January 11, 1955 in Heidelberg, Germany to Harold and Eleanore Debenham. Harold was serving in the U.S. Army at the time and retired after 24 years of service. David earned a ba in 1977 from Bethany College and a law degree from Washburn University in 1980. He was a prosecutor for over 28 years serving with the Shawnee County District Attorney's Office and the Kansas Attorney General. In 2008, Governor Kathleen Sebelius appointed David as a Shawnee County district judge, where he presently serves.

David is the father of three girls. One attends Washburn University and another is a graduate of Washburn Law School.
